This is a parti-color Namibian Tourmaline measuring 10.48 mm in length by 9.50 mm in width by 6.70 mm in depth and weighs 4.21 carats. This tourmaline exhibits exceptional dichroism so the color at the ends is an exquisite mint green and the center is a green blue. A lot of tourmalines are zoned in different colors like watermelon and bicolor tourmalines, while a parti-color uses the crystal properties to show the two colors.

The cutter used a modified oval Portuguese step cut that was adjusted to the critical angles of tourmaline to maximize the brilliance and dispersion. Our photographs do not do justice to this fine and rare gemstone.
